Liliana and Her Cats Adventures - The Holiday Series – A Valentine Surprise

The morning sun poured through the window like honey.Liliana sat at the table with colored paper, ribbons, and glitter.“Today is Valentine’s Day,” she said.“Let’s make something special for our friends.”Zeus blinked wisely.Leia’s tail twitched with curiosity.Bonnie rolled in the ribbons.And Piper pounced into the glitter.
Liliana cut out pink and red hearts.Each one had kind words written in swirly letters.“To Mrs. Appleby, for her garden cookies.”“To the mailman, who always waves.”“To the children next door, for their laughter.”The cats watched closely.Snowflake, now grown from a tiny puppy, wagged his tail happily nearby.
“Everyone deserves a little love today,” Liliana said.Zeus nodded as if he agreed.Leia began neatly arranging envelopes.Bonnie chased one under the chair.Piper sat right in the middle of the pile, proud of herself.And Snowflake barked softly, trying to help too.
They set out together to deliver the valentines.Snowflake carried a small basket tied with red ribbon.The cats trotted beside him, tails swishing in the cold February air.At each door, Liliana placed a card,and Snowflake wagged so hard his basket jingled.
By the time they returned home,the basket was empty,and the house was full of warm hearts.Liliana sighed happily.“All done,” she said, taking off her coat.But her cats and Snowflake exchanged mysterious looks.
When Liliana walked into the kitchen, she stopped.On the table sat a big red heart—cut from paper, decorated with ribbons and pawprints.Her cats sat proudly in a row.Snowflake wagged his tail, a tiny bit of red glitter on his nose.
Liliana laughed softly.“Oh, you made a valentine for me!”She knelt down and hugged them all.Zeus purred deeply.Leia rubbed her cheek.Bonnie meowed sweetly.Piper batted the heart’s corner.And Snowflake licked her chin.
Liliana placed the valentine on the windowsill where the sunlight touched it.It sparkled as bright as her smile.“Four cats and one puppy,” she whispered.“My team. My family. My everything.”
Outside, a few snowflakes drifted past the window.Inside, love and purring filled the room.Liliana poured cocoa,and they all settled in together—warm, happy, and surrounded by hearts.
About the Author -Lisa Fallon is a grandmother to her first grandchild Liliana. Liliana and her four cats are her inspiration for writing these great cat adventure storybooks. She wants her granddaughter to read and enjoy these stories as she grows up and has cat adventures of her own!Lisa has written several other short stories, and this is her first series of children’s books.She lives in Connecticut with her husband and son, while Liliana and her parents live in North Carolina.
